This type of steam joint has been especially designed for a customer from rubber industry who needs it for the cooling of rollers.  Despite its size of 4”, the two-way steam joint is of compact design with a length of 290 mm and a diameter of 200 mm.
The steam joint has two deep groove ball bearings with suitable sealing.
It is available for rotating or stationary inner tubes.
The rotor shaft has a ceramic coating to protect it from wear and tear.

With dryers, steam feed and condensate recirculation have to date been done through the shaft by means of a steam joint that is screwed outside.
Due to a modified construction with upstream gear, the steam that has a temperature of 150 °C could no longer be fed through the shaft.

Therefore a radial union was installed so that steam feed and condensate recirculation now are made after the gear.
